Annual Customer Appreciation Event
What is your understanding of Safety?
Managing Safety in complex, open systems may be more a matter of not trying to prevent things from going wrong, but a matter of understanding what makes things go right, and help people pursue success.
Join us to an engaging day with our panel of esteemed guest speakers including:
- Dr. Ofer Zellermayer (Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh) will address the topic "The risks in letting people manage risks: Five heuristics that lead us astray in risk evaluation".
- Professor Carlo Cacciabue (Kingston University London) and Professor Italo Oddone (Polytechnic University of Milan) will enlighten us with their topic "Pitfalls and effectiveness of modern approaches to aviation safety-risk assessment". Tools like Bow-Tie and ARMS methodologies have been stretched to make risk acceptable. A more rigorous tool, based on scientific principles and well established models will be introduced to provide a quantitative approach to risk management and reducing the reliance on gut feeling estimations.
- Professor Sidney Dekker (Griffith University Brisbane), pilot and best-selling author on Safety will introduce us to the topic "Safety Differently". How to manage risk depends on what we understand "risk" to be. Furthermore, the residual risk in many complex systems is that of "drifting into failure".
Come together and celebrate the season all the while benefiting from this interacting event!
Make the most of your trip!
The event will take place during one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany, the Frankfurter Weihnachtsmarkt. At the end of day, why not enjoy the full German experience with a cup of "Glühwein"?
