We process personal data collected during visits to our website in accordance with German law. Our privacy policy supplements the provisions set out in the Lufthansa Group Guidelines for Data Protection. Collecting and processing personal data

a) Storage of IP addresses

When you visit our website, our web server automatically records the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the web pages you actually visit and the date and duration of your visit. This is done for the purpose of optimizing this website to meet your needs and to increase its usability.

AQS uses cookies to track the preferences of our visitors and optimize our websites accordingly.

c) Other data collection

Personal data are only stored if volunteered by you, for example in the context of registration, in an e-mail, survey, contest or in execution of a contract. If you register for AQS’ newsletter, AQS will use the double-opt-in process based on German data protection law.

We would like to use your data to tell you about offers and services as well as our Quality Card Club Program and also to conduct occasional surveys about these. If you register for AQS' newsletter, AQS will use the double-opt-in process based on German data protection law.

Use and disclosure of personal data and purpose allocation

a) Use to improve offerings

AQS processes and uses your personal data for the purpose of providing services on this website, e.g. to provide you with a customized quote and/or to avoid redundant entries, and only to the extent necessary for these purposes. 

b) Contract execution

If you have provided us with personal data, we use it only to respond to your individual requests, to process contracts entered into with you and for technical administration.

c) Transmission to a third party/third country

Insofar as this is necessary for the conclusion or implementation of contracts, the data collected from you may be transmitted to third parties. However, your data are not transferred to third countries and AQS will not sell or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited e-mail. Any e-mails sent by us will be solely in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.

d) Transmission to authorities

Personal data will only be collected and transmitted to government institutions and authorities subject to the provisions of valid legislation. Our employees and suppliers/partners are bound to confidentiality and data secrecy according to § 5 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). 

e) Use during training courses

Under the BDSG, you consent to the storage of your personal data with regards to training and the issuance of any certificates. Your name and company will appear on the attendance list, which will be disseminated to all persons attending any training course for which you have registered.

Right to information

You have the right to inspect and request copies of any and all of your records kept by us, provided that we are given reasonable advance notice thereof. You are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall provide you with appropriate written information, handouts or copies of records as part of an agreed contract.

At your request, we will inform you whether we are storing any of your personal data and, if so, which data these are. We endeavor to accurately record and keep personal data up to date. However, should your stored personal data nevertheless be incorrect, we will correct it at your request.

Data security

We take technical and organizational security measures to protect your data which we manage against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Data processing and transmission are performed using the SSL procedure (Secure Socket Layer).

With e-mail communications, 100% data security cannot be guaranteed. We therefore encourage you to send confidential information by conventional mail. If we receive an e-mail from you, we assume that we are authorized to reply by e-mail.

Log files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Additionally, for the purposes of systems administration, detecting usage patterns and troubleshooting, our web servers automatically log standard access information including browser type, access times/ mail accounts, requested URL and referral URL. This information is not shared with third parties and is used only within this Company on a need-to-know basis. No individually identifiable information related to this data will ever be used in any way other than that stated above without your express permission.

Use of your personal data within the AQS Quality Card (Club) Program

a) We process and use your personal data within the Quality Card (Club) Program in order to

- send you your Quality Card as well as further information on the Quality Card Club Program
- inform you about any program enhancements or changes in good time
- credit your accrued miles to your account or forward your contact details to our program partners for mileage credit
- check anytime whether you have received the correct amount of miles
- verify whether correct amount of miles have been deducted from your account when redeeming an award
- spare you of information irrelevant to you
- spare you of having to provide the same information again and again whenever possible

b) Your personal data

In order to clearly identify you as a Quality Card holder and communicate with you as described above, we need a few items of personal data from you. This data is requested when you register for any public training course or the AQS Quality Card and consists e.g. of your last name, first name, address, country, e-mail address and phone number. You will get automatically your personal Quality Card at the last training course day. The use of this card as well as the participation in the Quality Card Club Program is voluntary. You can withdraw this consent at any time by sending us an email or by contacting the Group Data Protection Officer of Deutsche Lufthansa AG directly. You can also veto the use of your postal address for advertising purposes there.

c) Program data

Every time you accrue miles within the Quality Card Club Program the so-called program data is registered and recorded with AQS and our program partners. The program data is required for the management of your personal Quality Card account as well as the personalized correspondence mentioned above. When accruing miles, the program data contains all information needed to properly designate the mileage credit, such as e.g. name and duration of the training course that you attended or the contact details of the person you recommended. By recording the data it is possible to guarantee proper tracking of all account movements, detailed responses to inquiries and efficient handling of possible complaints.

d) Program partner

The operator of the Quality Card Club Program is AQS. Program partners for mileage credit are Miles&More GmbH and topbonus. For mileage credit your personal data will be transmitted to the according partner. The same applies to program data. In-line with your consent, this data may be analyzed and used by a joint operator of the program for the purpose mentioned above.

AQS shall only exchange data with other partner companies if necessary for the crediting of miles in partner systems.

Enforcement of and compliance with this privacy policy

We undertake to adhere to the above provisions relating to data protection as described.
